Posting to X (Twitter) with CoPost

How to connect X, switch to a different X account, and what to know about links, threads, polls and character limits.

Connecting X

  1. Go to Manage > Integrations and click Connect on X.
  2. CoPost shows a Sensitive permissions requested warning. This is normal: CoPost needs these permissions to post for you. Tick I trust this app to continue.
  3. Log in to X and accept every option X shows you.

Connecting a different X account

X remembers the account you're logged in to in your browser. To connect a different one, click Connect and force login. X will ask you to log in again, so you can choose the account you want.

Posting to X

  • Character limit: 280 characters, or 25,000 if your account has X Premium.
  • Links: links in a normal post are taken out of the caption and posted as the first reply instead, with a 👇 added to the end of the caption. X charges a lot more for posts with links in the caption, so this keeps your posts going out.
  • Threads: split a long post into a thread of connected posts in Composer.
  • Polls: add a poll to your post in Composer. A post with a poll can't also have images or a video.
  • Media: up to 4 images, 1 video or 1 GIF. You can't mix them in one post.
