Organising with Labels, Hashtags and Templates

Group posts with labels, save hashtag groups to drop into captions, and reuse your best posts as templates, viral templates and hooks.

The Organize section of the left-hand menu holds the building blocks that save you time when you create posts. This guide covers three of them: Labels, Hashtags and Templates.

For the other items in Organize, see Using custom folders in Media Manager and How to use Variables in CoPost.

Labels

Labels group posts into campaigns, topics or content types, such as "Product launch", "Tips" or "Client A". Each label has a name and a colour, so you can spot it at a glance on the Calendar, Planner and Content page, and filter by it in the Planner.

Every post slot collection also has a label, and it's how posts are added to that collection's queue.

Creating a label

  1. Go to Organize > Labels.
  2. Click New Label.
  3. Enter a Label Name and pick a Colour, or set a Custom Colour. The preview shows how it'll look.
  4. Click Create Label.

To change a label, click its edit button. To delete it, click the delete button. Posts that use a deleted label aren't affected.

To add a label to a post, choose it in the Details section of Composer.

Hashtag groups

Hashtag groups are saved sets of hashtags you can add to a caption in one click, for example a group for each campaign or post type.

Creating a hashtag group

  1. Go to Organize > Hashtags.
  2. Click New Group.
  3. Enter a Group Name.
  4. Type each hashtag and press Enter (or click away) to add it.
  5. Pick a Colour and click Create Group.

Using a hashtag group

In Composer, open the Hashtags tab above the editor and click Use on the group. Its hashtags are added to your caption.

ℹ️ If you'd rather keep hashtags out of the caption, paste them into a First Comment instead. Composer posts the comment straight after the post goes live, on platforms that support it.

Templates

Templates are reusable posts. Save a post you use often, such as a weekly offer or an event announcement, and start new posts from it instead of from scratch.

Go to Organize > Templates. There are three tabs:

My Templates

Your saved templates. To create one:

  • Click New Template to write one from scratch in Composer, or
  • In Composer, open the save menu on any post and choose Save as Template.

To use a template, open the Template tab at the top of Composer and choose it. You can also edit or delete templates from the My Templates tab.

ℹ️ How many templates you can save depends on your plan. You can check your usage on Settings > Usage.

AI Viral Templates

Proven post structures that do well on social media. In Composer, open the Template tab, type a topic, choose a viral template, and CoWriter writes the post for you in that structure.

Hooks

Hooks are attention-grabbing opening lines. On the Hooks tab you can:

  • Click Generate to have AI write 5, 10 or 15 hooks using your Brand Voice. Add a topic first if you want to steer them.
  • Click Add to write your own.
  • Select hooks and click Delete selected to remove them.

Your hooks appear in the Hooks tab in Composer. From there, you can drop one straight into your caption, or have CoWriter build a whole post around it.
