Bulk Creator - Manual Creation (Grid & Sheet View)
Using the manual method in CoPost's bulk creator
This covers building posts by hand in Bulk Creator: adding them, editing them in Grid or Sheet view, setting platforms and per-platform options, and using the bulk actions bar to edit, schedule, or submit many posts at once.
Adding a post
Click Add Post in the header (or Add a post on the empty-state screen if your batch is currently empty). A new blank post appears at the top of your list with:
- No title, no caption, no media, no platforms selected
- Status set to Draft
- Its post type pre-set from whatever the global default type pill (Post / Reel-Short / Story / Carousel) is currently set to in the header — and if that default isn't plain "Post," eligible connected platforms are automatically selected for you too, the same way they would be after an import.
Grid view vs. Sheet view
Switch between them anytime with the toggle in the header — both edit the exact same posts.
Grid view
Each post is a card containing:
- A large media preview area — drag and drop an image or video straight onto it to attach it (you'll see "Drop media to upload" while dragging over), or use the media strip below it to add more.
- Title field (used for Pinterest, YouTube, Reddit, and Carousel — see Post type & platform options below)
- Caption box — while AI is generating text into it, an overlay reads "Sculpting."
- Date — click to open the date/time picker
- Status — Draft / Scheduled / Scheduled Draft, with a built-in tooltip reminder of what each means
- Slot/Label — tag the post or assign it to a queue slot
- Platforms — a row of your connected account avatars; click to toggle a platform on/off for this post
- Action icons: AI Caption (only shown while the caption is empty), Duplicate, Delete, platform options (a small green dot appears here once you've customized any platform-specific setting), and a Save/Schedule button on the right (its icon and tooltip switch between "Save this post" and "Schedule this post" depending on the post's status)
Sheet view
A compact spreadsheet-style table — better for scanning and bulk-editing many posts. Same fields as Grid (Media, Title, Caption, Platforms, Date/Status, Slot/Label, Actions), with a few differences:
- No drag-and-drop onto the row — media is only added via the media strip's + button.
- No per-row AI Caption button — use the bulk AI Captions action (below) instead, or write captions manually.
- Each row shows an inline hint when something's missing, e.g. "Needs platform, date to schedule" — so you can see at a glance what's blocking a post without opening it.
- A dedicated × button next to the date field clears a scheduled date in one click.
Editing a post
- Title — free text; also automatically becomes the Pinterest pin title, YouTube video title, Reddit post title, and LinkedIn carousel title at submit time, so you only need to type it once even if several of those platforms are selected.
- Caption — free text, or leave it as a prompt and click AI Caption to have it written for you (see below).
- Media — add via drag-and-drop (Grid only) or the media strip's + button, which opens the full media picker (upload, media library, Unsplash, Giphy).
- Platforms — click an avatar to toggle that platform on/off for this specific post.
- Date — click the date field or its calendar icon to open the scheduling picker; it suggests good posting times for whichever platforms you currently have selected.
- Status — set directly from the dropdown. Setting it to Scheduled or Scheduled Draft requires the post to already have a platform, title, caption, and date — if anything's missing you'll get a message telling you exactly what to add first.
- Slot/Label — pick a label to tag the post, or pick one that's linked to a Post Slot Collection to actually reserve a real queue slot for it (this sets its scheduled date and, if no platforms are chosen yet, applies that slot's default accounts automatically). Clearing a label just removes the tag — it won't undo a date/slot that was already assigned.
Post type & platform options
Click the platform-options icon on a post to expand its settings inline:
- A Post / Reel-Short / Story / Carousel pill row lets you override this post's type individually (separate from the global default in the header). Changing it automatically re-selects the right platforms and their publish-type settings for you.
- Facebook / Instagram — publish type follows the post type automatically (no separate control needed).
- TikTok — privacy setting, plus comment/duet/stitch permissions, and a "Disclose promotional content" toggle with its own sub-options.
- LinkedIn — a "Make a carousel post" checkbox.
- Pinterest — pick a board per connected Pinterest account, plus a destination URL.
- YouTube — category, tags, visibility, and license.
Duplicate and Delete
- Duplicate clones the post (media, caption, platforms, everything), appends " Copy" to the title, resets its status to Draft, and drops the copy at the top of your list.
- Delete removes a single post immediately with no confirmation — be careful, there's no undo. (Bulk deleting several posts at once, below, does ask you to confirm first.)
AI Caption (per post)
Click AI Caption on a post whose caption is empty. If you've typed something into the caption box first, that text is used as your prompt to guide the AI; if it's genuinely blank, the AI writes from your brand voice instead — and avoids repeating your last several AI-generated captions so you don't get the same post twice. Each generation uses AI credits; if you hit your plan's limit, you'll be offered the option to upgrade for more.
Selecting posts & the bulk actions bar
Check the box on any post (or click Select All in the bulk actions bar to grab everything currently visible) to enable the bulk actions:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Select All / Clear Selected | Toggles between selecting every visible post and clearing your selection. |
| Delete Selected | Deletes every selected post — this one does ask you to confirm first. |
| Apply status | Sets the same status (Draft / Scheduled / Scheduled Draft) on every selected post. Posts that don't meet the requirements for Scheduled/Scheduled Draft are skipped, and you'll be told how many were skipped and why. |
| Apply Slots | Reserves the next available queue slots for a chosen slot-linked label and assigns them across your selected posts in order, filling in each post's scheduled date (and its default accounts, if the post has no platforms picked yet). If there aren't enough open slots for everyone selected, nothing is changed and you're told to adjust your selection or add more slots. |
| Apply Platforms | Opens a dialog to pick accounts and set platform-specific options once, then apply the whole thing to every selected post in one go — see below. |
| AI Captions | Runs AI caption generation (same brand-voice/prompt logic as the single-post version) across every selected post, one after another. |
| Submit Selected | Submits every selected post that's ready (see Submitting posts below); anything not ready is skipped and reported. |
The Apply Platforms dialog
Pick which connected accounts to apply, then configure their shared options once:
- Facebook / Instagram — publish type (Post / Reel / Story)
- TikTok — video/photo type, privacy, and the same comment/duet/stitch/branded-content options as the per-post panel
- Pinterest — destination URL, plus a board picker per selected Pinterest account
- You can also select a LinkedIn account here, but note that no LinkedIn-specific options currently appear in this dialog (its options simply won't be customized this way — set them per-post instead if needed)
Clicking Apply to N post(s) adds the chosen accounts to every selected post (without removing platforms they already had) and merges in the options you set. You'll get a confirmation toast telling you how many platforms were applied to how many posts.
Statuses explained
| Status | Meaning | What's required to set it |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Saved, not scheduled. | Just a caption or some media — nothing else. |
| Scheduled Draft | Scheduled, but needs approval before it goes live. | A platform, title, caption, and date — all four. |
| Scheduled | Will publish automatically at the set time. | Same as above — a platform, title, caption, and date. |
If your workspace has approval workflows turned on and you don't have approval permission, you'll only be able to choose Draft or Scheduled Draft — pushing straight to Scheduled is reserved for approvers.
Submitting posts
Nothing actually happens to a post — no draft is saved, nothing is scheduled — until you submit it, either one at a time (the save/schedule button on the post itself) or as a batch (Submit Selected). Submitting:
- Sends Draft posts to your normal drafts list.
- Sends Scheduled / Scheduled Draft posts into the real scheduling/queue pipeline.
- Shows a live progress overlay on each post while it saves (Pending → Building → Saving → Completed).
- Once a post saves successfully, it disappears from your Bulk Creator working list (it's now "live" as a draft or scheduled post elsewhere) and is removed from your selection.
- If a post fails to save, it stays in your list so you can fix and retry it — a batch submission will tell you how many succeeded and how many failed rather than silently stopping.
- If you hit your plan's post limit partway through a batch, submission stops immediately and tells you how many made it through before the limit was hit.
A note on safety nets
Bulk Creator autosaves your whole working list to your browser and will warn you before you navigate away with unsaved posts still in it — but there's no undo button anywhere in the feature, so double-check before deleting a post (single-delete has no confirmation) or clearing a big selection.
