Connecting Mastodon to CoPost

How to join a Mastodon server and connect your Mastodon account to CoPost.

Mastodon works a little differently to other platforms. It isn't one website but lots of separate servers (sometimes called instances), so you need to tell CoPost which server your account is on.

Before you connect

You need a Mastodon account on a server. If you don't have one yet, go to joinmastodon.org, pick a server and sign up. Make a note of the server's address, such as mastodon.social.

Connecting Mastodon

  1. Go to Manage > Integrations and click Connect on Mastodon.
  2. Read the information and click Next.
  3. On Choose your Mastodon server, select your server. If it isn't listed, choose Other and type in your server's address.
  4. Log in to your Mastodon account and approve CoPost.

Good to know

  • Posts can be up to 500 characters.
  • You can add up to 4 images, or 1 video or GIF. You can't mix them in one post.
