Plans, Billing and Payments
How the free trial works, how to upgrade, downgrade or cancel, where to find invoices and usage, and what happens if a payment fails.
This guide covers everything about your CoPost plan: the free trial, changing plans, invoices, usage and what happens if a payment doesn't go through.
Only the account owner can see the billing pages. They're all under Settings:
| Page | What's there |
|---|---|
| Subscription | Your current plan, and buttons to upgrade, downgrade, cancel or reactivate |
| Billing | Your invoices, which you can download |
| Usage | How much of your plan's allowances you've used |
The plans
| Plan | Ideal for |
|---|---|
| Free | Manual posting and scheduling for one brand |
| Creator | Individual creators managing one brand. Adds AI tools, CoGen, Auto Feeds, and API and MCP access. |
| Creator Pro | Creators who want AI video, with more accounts, Brand Spaces and AI credits |
| Teams | Businesses and agencies managing several brands, with team members, assigning and approvals, client approval links and Scene Builder for AI video |
You can see the full list of what each plan includes, and current prices, on Settings > Subscription. Every paid plan can be billed monthly or yearly, and yearly works out cheaper.
ℹ️ If you're on an older plan, it's marked as Legacy. You keep all of its features for as long as you stay subscribed. If you switch to one of the new plans, you can't go back to the legacy one.
Your free trial
New accounts start with a 30-day free trial with the AI and automation features switched on. Settings > Subscription shows how many days are left.
To keep those features after the trial, choose a plan before it ends. If you don't, your account moves to the Free plan automatically. Nothing is deleted, but the paid features switch off.
Upgrading or downgrading
- Go to Settings > Subscription.
- Choose Monthly or Yearly.
- Click the button on the plan you want.
If you already have a subscription, you'll see a preview of the cost before you confirm. The change is pro-rated, so you only pay the difference for the rest of your billing period.
What happens when you downgrade
If you move to a plan with lower limits, anything over the new limits is locked rather than deleted:
- Social accounts over the limit show 🔒 Locked on your current plan on the Integrations page.
- Team members over the limit show 🔒 Locked on the Team page. See Inviting team members.
Upgrade again at any time to unlock them.
Cancelling your subscription
- Go to Settings > Subscription.
- Click Cancel.
- Check the date shown, then click Continue to Cancel.
You keep all your plan's features until the end of the billing period you've paid for. After that, your account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted, but anything over the Free plan's limits, such as extra social accounts or Brand Spaces, is locked until you upgrade again.
Changed your mind? Click Reactivate on the same page. You can do this up until 30 minutes before your subscription ends, and it carries on as normal.
Invoices
Go to Settings > Billing to see every invoice, with its amount, status, number and date. Click the download icon to get a PDF.
If an invoice is missing, log a support ticket from Settings > Support.
Checking your usage
Settings > Usage shows how much you've used against your plan's limits, in three groups:
- Posts & Queues: queued posts, post slot collections, drafts and templates
- AI & Automation: AI credits, AI image credits, AI videos, and automations and triggers
- Socials & Zones: connected social accounts and Brand Spaces
AI credits, AI image credits and AI videos are monthly allowances. If you run out, you can upgrade for a bigger allowance.
If a payment fails
We'll email you straight away and show a prompt in the app. Click Manage Payment Method in the email or the prompt to update your card.
If the payment still can't be taken, we'll email you reminders on around days 4 and 7, then a final notice on day 9. About 10 days after the first failed payment, your account moves to the Free plan. When that happens:
- Premium features are switched off
- Anything over the Free plan's limits is locked, such as extra social accounts, Brand Spaces, Auto Feeds and team members
- The approval workflow is paused
Nothing is deleted. Update your payment details and resubscribe, and everything that was locked is unlocked again.
ℹ️ If you update your payment before the account deactivates, you keep your current price. If it lapses and you subscribe again later, you may have to pay the current price, which could be higher.
Frequently asked questions
Do team members need their own plan? No. Team members work inside your Brand Spaces under your plan. The exceptions are AI image generation and API access, which follow the member's own plan.
Can I get a refund? We don't offer refunds on subscriptions. You can cancel at any time, and you keep your plan until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. See Cancelling your subscription.
Is there a refund on lifetime plans? Yes. Lifetime plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you're not happy, contact us within 14 days of buying at [email protected] or log a support ticket. Lifetime plans aren't always available to buy.
