Bulk Creator - Overview

A quick overview of CoPost's bulk creator

Karl Fountain·

Bulk Creator is where you build a whole batch of posts at once, instead of one at a time in Composer. It's built for volume: dozens of product posts from a Shopify feed, a month of content from a CSV, or a quick batch of manually-written posts you knock out in a spreadsheet-style grid.

There are two ways to get posts into your batch:

  1. Import — pull content in from an external source (a CSV file, your media library, Google Drive, or a connected platform like Shopify or a blog feed). See Bulk Creator — Importing Content.
  2. Manual creation — add blank posts yourself and fill them in using the Grid or Sheet view, with bulk actions to edit, schedule, or submit many at once. See Bulk Creator — Manual Creation (Grid & Sheet View).

Both roads lead to the same place: a working list of posts that you edit, select platforms and options for, then submit — either as drafts, scheduled posts, or straight into your posting queue. You can freely mix the two — import a batch of products, then manually add a couple of your own posts alongside them, all in the same list.

The stats bar

At the top of the screen, four live counters describe your current working batch:

StatWhat it counts
PostsEvery post currently in your working list, whether imported or added manually.
SelectedHow many posts you currently have checked (for bulk actions).
DraftsPosts currently set to Draft status.
Queue ReadyPosts currently set to Scheduled status. This is a status tally of what's still sitting in your working list — it doesn't mean they've been submitted yet, just that they're marked ready to go.

Grid view vs. Sheet view

Every post in your batch can be viewed either way — switch anytime with the Grid / Sheet toggle in the header. Both views show and edit the same underlying posts; nothing is lost switching between them.

  • Grid view — a card per post, with a large media preview you can drag-and-drop files directly onto, and a dedicated "AI Caption" button for any post that doesn't have a caption yet.
  • Sheet view — a compact spreadsheet-style table, better for scanning and editing many posts quickly, with an inline hint on each row telling you exactly what's still missing before it can be scheduled.

Full details on both are in the Manual Creation guide.

Your work is protected automatically

  • Bulk Creator autosaves your batch to your browser every time you leave the page, and restores it automatically next time you're back in the same workspace — you'll see a toast like "Restored 4 unsaved post(s) from your last session."
  • If you try to close or navigate away from the tab while you have posts in your batch, your browser will ask you to confirm first, so you don't lose work by accident.
  • There's no undo button, so it's worth using this safety net rather than relying on it — double-check before deleting a post or clearing your selection.

Where posts actually go

Nothing in your batch is "live" until you submit it (via Submit Selected, or the per-post save button). Submitting sends each post to one of two places:

  • Draft status → saved as a plain draft, editable later from your normal drafts list.
  • Scheduled or Scheduled Draft status → sent into the real scheduling/queue pipeline.

See the Manual Creation guide for exactly what each status requires and what happens if a submission fails partway through a batch.
