Bulk Creator - Importing Content
Importing content directly into the bulk creator area
Importing is the fastest way to seed a large batch of posts. Click Import in the Bulk Creator header (tooltip: "Import from CSV, media, or a connected source") to open the Import drawer on the left side of the screen.
The drawer is split into two sections:
- Media Sources — Media Library, Google Drive, CSV, Upload
- Import Sources — a grid of connected-platform tiles (Shopify, Etsy, blogs, video/music platforms, etc.)
Clicking any tile closes the drawer and opens a dedicated full-width workspace for that source, with a "Back to Bulk Creator" button in its header to return to your grid/sheet whenever you're done.
One important rule that applies to every import source below: only Media Library, Upload, and Google Drive automatically pick a post type and select eligible connected platforms for you (the same way manually clicking "Add Post" does). Every other import — CSV, all the connected-platform sources (Shopify, Etsy, etc.), and the special AI Idea import — lands with no platforms selected and no post type set. You'll need to open each of those imported posts and choose platforms/type yourself before they're ready to schedule. Keep this in mind so a big CSV import doesn't surprise you by needing a manual pass afterward.
Media Sources
Media Library
Opens your existing media library as a bulk picker, right inside Bulk Creator. Select as many images/videos as you like, then confirm — one post is created per item you selected, each pre-filled with that piece of media.
Google Drive
Lets you pick files straight from a connected Google Drive account.
- If Drive isn't connected yet, clicking this tile starts the connection/authorization flow for you automatically — there's no separate "connect" step to find first.
- Once connected, it opens the Google Picker dialog. Pick your files, and each one is downloaded, uploaded into CoPost, and turned into its own post — same one-post-per-item behavior as Media Library.
CSV
Opens a CSV import workspace where you upload a .csv file and preview every row before committing.
What your CSV needs: a header row, then one data row per post. Column headers are matched automatically — there's no manual "map your columns" step, so use one of the recognized header names below (case doesn't matter, and spaces/underscores are treated the same):
| Field | Required? | Recognized header names |
|---|---|---|
| Caption | Yes | caption, post_caption, text, content |
| Media URL | No | image_url, image, media_url, photo |
| Platforms | No | platforms, socials, channels — comma-separated (e.g. instagram, facebook) |
| Schedule Date | No | schedule_date, date, publish_date — e.g. MM/DD/YYYY 2:30 PM or YYYY-MM-DD 14:30 |
| Label | No | label, tag, category |
| Title | No | title, post_title, name |
If a column isn't present at all, that field is just left blank on every imported post — no error. A "View example Google Sheet" link in the workspace shows a working example if you want to copy the format.
Row-by-row validation: every row is checked and shown in a preview table before you import anything:
- A row with no caption is marked invalid and is skipped — it will not be imported at all.
- A row listing a platform name CoPost doesn't recognize is also marked invalid and skipped.
- A badly formatted date doesn't block the row — it still imports, just without a scheduled date.
- A label that doesn't match any existing label doesn't block the row either — it imports without a label.
Click "Import N Drafts" to bring in only the valid rows. You'll get a summary toast, for example: "Imported 8 draft(s). 2 had an unreadable date (imported without one). 1 had an unmatched label (imported without one)."
Every CSV-imported post starts life as a Draft with no post type and no platforms selected (unless your CSV's Platforms column named valid platforms) — see the callout at the top of this page.
Upload
A straightforward file picker for images/videos on your computer — click the tile, choose your files, done. You can select up to 5 files per batch; picking more triggers a warning telling you only the first 5 will be uploaded and to do the rest in a second batch. Each file is checked against the platform's normal size limits before uploading.
Import Sources (connected platforms)
These tiles pull real content from an external source by URL — no account connection or OAuth needed, you just paste a public link. Currently available:
Shopify · Etsy · WooCommerce · Medium · RSS · WordPress · Blogger · YouTube Videos · Rumble Videos · Beatport · Spotify · SoundCloud Tracks · Frizerly
For each, the workspace asks for a public link (store URL, blog URL, channel URL, feed URL, etc.) and a button to fetch content (e.g. "View Products", "View Articles"). It makes a live request and returns real items — titles, images, prices/tags where relevant — which you can review and select before generating draft posts from them.
As with CSV, these posts come in as Drafts with no platforms or post type pre-selected — you'll assign those yourself afterward, either per post or using the bulk actions described in the Manual Creation guide.
AI Idea import (a special case)
You may occasionally land in Bulk Creator with a batch of posts already waiting for you, each with a real AI-written caption and a real AI-generated image already attached. This isn't something you trigger from inside the Import drawer — it comes from the CoGen dashboard widget ("CoGen worked overnight and prepared fresh content ideas for today") when you click its "Review in Bulk Editor" button.
These posts are genuinely ready to review (not blank templates), but like the other imports above, they arrive with no platforms selected — pick those before scheduling or submitting.
Getting back to your list
Every workspace (CSV, connected-platform, Media Library) has a "Back to Bulk Creator" button that returns you to your grid/sheet without losing anything you've already imported. The Import drawer itself can be collapsed independently at any time using its own toggle handle.
